The masterclass includes exclusive podium time with Rio Negro Philharmonic Orchestra. All personal orchestral sessions will be recorded on video. Additional you get personal video analysis, coaching and evaluation with both maestro Akerwall and maestro Rasmussen along with your orchestral rehearsals.

The masterclass has no age-limit.

First week repertoire

All mandatory repertoire will be rehearsed during the masterclasses with Rio Negro Philharmonic Orchestra. To gain the maximum benefits from the course we recommend you to prepare and study all repertoire prior to the start of the masterclass.

Participation fee:
€ 850 /active one week (includes exclusive podium time with Rio Negro Philharmonic Orchestra, individual video analysis, evaluation, piano-sessions, personal coaching)
€ 400 / Semi active one week (includes active participation in individual video analysis, evaluation, piano-sessions, personal coaching and passive access to all other lessons including orchestral rehearsals and concert)

The fee includes podium time in front of Rio Negro Philharmonic Orchestra, individual video analysis, evaluation, piano-sessions, personal coaching and daily lunch. Completion of both masterclasses requires a minimum group size of 8-10 participants. OCA only refunds paid course fee – not additional costs –  in case of cancellation of a masterclass.

Rio Negro Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestral Conductors Academy invites you to a wonderful experience in one of the most beautiful places in Argentina: at the wellknown Hotel Tunquelén placed on a wooded hillside on Lake Nahuel Huapí’s Llao Llao Peninsula at the edge of Nahuel Huapí National Park.

Daily schedule for the masterclass is 10.00 – 19.00 including orchestral rehearsals (09.00 – 12.00 / 15.00 – 18.00), piano sessions, individual video analyze, personal and coaching/ evaluation. Your active part of the masterclass is doubled with not one but two professional maestros optimizing your skills, insights and professional know-how as a conductor. The tuition focus will be on conducting technique and how to control sound and phrasing. We also look into score analyzing, rhetoric communication and rehearsal techniques. This includes psychological aspects of orchestral conducting, preparing yourself and the score for rehearsal with the orchestra. One-hour personal coaching sessions will be given on request.

Hotel Tunquelén is located 39 km from San Carlos de Bariloche Airport.

We recommend Hotel Tunquelén since the masterclass takes place here, alternatively El Camping Musical Bariloche that

All participants will receive a personalized video of their rehearsals in a professional sound recording. Participants are welcome to bring their own recording device.

A 60-minutes one-to-one coaching session is possible at additional cost. The one-to-one coaching session will on choice of the participant with Maestro Rasmussen or Maestro Akerwall.

The course will be taught primarily in English and German and secondarily Swedish or Danish for Scandinavian participants.

OCA reserves the right to changes at any time without notice. The masterclass are financed entirely on the fee from the participants. Your fee are completely refundable before the deadline. After deadline we refund in case your place can be taken over by another applicant. In case OCA cancels the masterclass OCA will refund paid fee at any time. Any additional costs such as flight, etc will not be refunded.
